A celebrant-led ceremony does not have to be limited to a traditional or licensed wedding venue.
Because the legal registration is completed separately, your ceremony can take place somewhere that feels meaningful to you — a venue, a garden, a family home, a favourite outdoor space, or even your own back garden.
The place can become part of the story.
Your ceremony, your setting
You may already have a venue in mind, or you may be thinking about somewhere more personal.
A garden.
A woodland.
A beach.
A barn.
A restaurant.
A family home.
A place that already means something to you.
The setting does not need to be grand to be meaningful. It just needs to feel right.
What this means
Your ceremony can be shaped around the place, the atmosphere and the people who will be there.
It can include your story, personal vows, readings, music, guest involvement, handfasting, a quaich, family or cultural traditions — or something much simpler.
The aim is always the same: a ceremony that feels natural, personal and genuinely reflective of you.
The legal part
A celebrant-led ceremony is not currently legally binding in England and Wales.
Most couples complete the legal registration separately, usually at a register office with two witnesses. Your celebrant-led ceremony is then where you mark your commitment in the place, style and timing that feels right for you.
How I can help
If you are not sure whether a location would work, we can talk it through.
I can help you think about the practical details — where people might stand or sit, how guests could be involved, and how the ceremony could feel calm and well held on the day.
Local area
I am based in Alton, Hampshire, and work across Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey, West Sussex and surrounding areas, with selected UK-wide availability.
