A commitment ceremony is a meaningful way to recognise your relationship, your promises, and the life you are choosing together.
It might be right for you if you do not want a legal wedding. It might also be right if you cannot have one in the way you would like, or if you simply want a ceremony that feels more personal, flexible and true to you.
I create personal, non-religious commitment ceremonies that are written from scratch and shaped around your story. That includes who you are, what you value, what you have built together, and what you want to promise for the future.
Your ceremony can be quiet and intimate, joyful and celebratory, reflective and tender, or a mixture of all of those things. What matters is that it feels honest and genuinely yours.
What your commitment ceremony can include
Your ceremony can include personal promises, readings, music, symbolic rituals, family involvement, moments of reflection, or a simple declaration of commitment.
There is no fixed format and no set language you have to use. We can create something beautifully simple, or include details that give the ceremony more shape and meaning.
You do not need to know exactly what you want before we begin. I will help you think through what feels right — and what does not.
How we create it together
We begin with a relaxed conversation so I can understand your relationship, what this ceremony means to you, and how you want the moment to feel.
From there, I write your ceremony from scratch. You will have time to read, reflect and make changes before the day.
I can also support you with promises, readings, symbolic rituals and the overall flow of the ceremony. The aim is for everything to feel natural, thoughtful and held with care.
A ceremony without assumptions
A commitment ceremony gives you the freedom to mark your relationship in a way that reflects who you are.
It does not have to follow wedding traditions unless you want it to. It does not need to fit anyone else’s expectations.
It can simply be a ceremony that honours your commitment, your values and your life together.
